Designed as a seamless extension to the beloved Secret Spot Hostel, this two-storey addition embraces Siargao's laid-back island spirit while elevating the guest experience through thoughtful architecture and warm tropical living.

The design is centered around connection—creating welcoming communal spaces that naturally encourage travelers to gather, share stories, and slow down. A spacious open-air dining and shared kitchen become the heart of the hostel, while generous terraces, lush cascading greenery, and shaded walkways blur the boundary between indoors and the tropical landscape.

The architecture embraces a palette of beige limewash walls, warm maple-toned timber, natural woven textures, and authentic nipa roofing, creating an atmosphere that feels timeless, relaxed, and deeply rooted in the island. Every space is softened by natural light, live planting, and carefully balanced materials that age beautifully in the tropical climate.

Private guest rooms are designed as quiet retreats after a day of surfing and exploration. Simple yet refined interiors prioritize comfort with natural ventilation, warm ambient lighting, handcrafted details, and calming earth tones that reflect the slower rhythm of island life.

Throughout the project, every design decision balances aesthetics with functionality—from durable tropical materials and low-maintenance finishes to communal amenities that support long-term travelers, digital nomads, and backpackers alike.

More than an expansion, the Secret Spot Hostel Extension strengthens the hostel's identity: a place where thoughtful design, genuine hospitality, and the relaxed spirit of Siargao come together to create memorable stays and meaningful connections.
